Popular Events Coming to Sacramento in August 2019
Summer is still going strong and we have compiled a list of some of the popular events coming up in Sacramento this August 2019!
August 1: HOOK-I-LAU
Executive Chef Anthony Scuderi is helping people in Sacramento celebrate summer with tiki drinks and an amazing menu at Hook & Ladder Manufacturing Company’s HOOK-I-LAU party! The first 20 individuals to buy tickets get a tiki mug with their ticket purchase. The ticket itself includes the menu items listed, a welcome drink and one cocktail from the menu. Cocktails will be provided by Rafael Jimenez Rivera and Buddy Newby, a Hook & Ladder and Jungle Bird collaboration. The food will be served buffet style and the menu includes:
Kahlua Pork
Grilled Pineapple and Pepper Skewers with a Fresno Chili Glaze
Fried Rice with Housemade Spam and Rock Shrimp
Classic Hawaiian Macaroni Salad with Macadamia Nuts and Carrots
Salmon Poke with Kewpie Mayo, Scallions, Sesame Seeds and Taro Chips
Slow Roasted Polynesia Pork wrapped in Banana Leaves served on Hawaiian Rolls
Pineapple Upside Down Cake

August 10: THIS Midtown Block Party- Mat ZO
THIS Midtown is having another Block Party and this time they will have a throwback set by Mat Zo! Other guests will be Benjam, Solara, Audio D and Nay Jay. All are welcome but you must be 21+ to drink!

August 14: An Orchestral Interpretation of Dr. Dre 2001
No Strings Attached is bringing a combination of traditional Orchestra merged with live hip-hop with their live Orchestral Rendition of DR. DRE 2001. This body of work features so many intricate musical layers that it combines UK’s leading Orchestra with DJ’s, singers and lyricists to give the audience an experience outside of a traditional Orchestral event. This is a standing event and admission is 21 and over.

August 17: Wide Open Walls Street Party & Concert
Wide Open Walls is a premiere mural and street art festival with the goal of bringing together international and local artists that contribute to Sacramento’s vibrant street art scene. This will be the closing event of the 2 week festival. The Street Party & Concert features live art installations, live murals, artists booths and some of Sacramento’s best food trucks, bars and DJ’s!

August 24: Sactown Nachos Festival
The Nacho Festival is back and this year they’re saying it’s going to be bigger and better than before! There will be plenty of cheese flowing and each of the vendors is offering a $3 nacho special so you can eat til your heart is content! There will also be live music, semi pro wrestlers and a kid friendly game area. The beneficiary of the event is Project Optimism (Events for a Cause) which aids with children and the homeless.
