Classes Happening at Crocker Art Museum this August 2019
If you are interested in learning some new art techniques, the Crocker Art Museum has quite a few cool and helpful classes to expand your knowledge of painting and design. Here are some of their class offerings for the month of August!
August 10: Make Fun-ctional Art
This class teaches acrylic painting techniques on paper and then allows you to display your skill and uniqueness on art you can wear and use. This class is designed for all skill levels, the beginners will get step-by-step instruction for simple composition and the advanced participants paint at their own pace. In this session participants will be painting a wooden keepsake box.
Time: 12-4PM
Tickets: $45 members and $65 nonmembers
August 13: Drawing with Wet and Dry Media
This class allows participants to expand their artistic repertoire by learning to incorporate water-based media into pencil and charcoal drawings. The goal is to create a deeper understanding of sighting, placing objects, estimating proportions and comparative measuring.
Time: 6-8:30PM
Tickets: $95 members and $115 nonmembers
August 13: The Old West from Photo to Painting
Artists in this class view a variety of landscapes from all over the world as well as view images in the exhibition The Race to Promontory: The Transcontinental Railroad and The American West in order to find inspiration in acrylic landscapes. Participants will then get to paint their own landscape compositions with acrylics.
Time: 6-8:30PM
Tickets: $95 members and $115 nonmembers
August 15: Figural Studies
Hone your skills in figure drawing by observing and analyzing the human form in key works from the Crocker’s collection. This class allows you to master proportions and shading by drawing live nude models.
Time: 6-8:30PM
Tickets: $165 members and $185 nonmembers
