The 10 Best Outdoor Drinking Destinations in Sac

On the heels of Sacramento’s recent Michelin awards, I think it’s safe to say we have a strong food and drink culture here in the Capitol. When you’re not only in the middle of a growing foodie, craft beer, and cocktail revolution, but also our first summer’s night of the year, what’s better than enjoying it in one of our fabulous bars or restaurants?

We’ve rounded up Sacramento’s best restaurant and bar patios so you can make the most of these warm summer nights. Enjoy!

Urban Roots Brewing & Smokehouse

This brewery and smokehouse restaurant bordering between Midtown and Downtown Sacramento specializes in smoked meats and craft beers. With one of the bigger outdoor seating spaces on the list, and probably the largest space overall, you can usually find a seat here.

Revival at The Sawyer

One of the most talked about spots, Revival at The Sawyer is famous for being a rooftop bar and sporting a pool. This modern hangout quickly became a popular Insta-destination. Go for a drink and take a dip.

The Red Rabbit has long been a favorite amongst locals for their craft cocktails and cool vibes. Though not widely known, their back patio is a sweet retreat. Reserved for a party, take a seat in the front patio under the umbrellas.

SacYard Community Tap House

This urban Biergarten is a very fun, surprisingly family-friendly spot. Bring your pups and relax with some of your favorite backyard games and a rotating selection of beer and food trucks.

This modern twist on a classic German beer hall serves up some mean beer snacks and delicious house-made sausages. One of the few places you can find brunch on the weekend, bring the pups and make it a day.

Kupros Craft House

This Sacramento classic is situated in a 1910 craftsman structure. Chill out on one of their two patios with a craft beer and a tasty morsel from the grill.

Federalist Public House & Beer Garden

While only partially open to the elements, Federalist provides a unique experience as a shipping container structure. While there is nowhere you can to step out of the heat here, it’s definitely worth the beer and pizza they offer. Did someone say bocce ball?

Drake’s: The Barn

If you haven’t been yet, it is definitely worth a trip. The Barn is a truly stunning piece of architecture conveniently complemented by the addition of 400 seat beer garden and bar, and fire pits.

One of East Sac’s top restaurants, Canon offers a comfortable and stylish backdrop to drool-worthy food and tasty cocktails. The front patio is dog friendly and quite comfortable. Treat yourself at this Bib-Gourmand-winning restaurant.

Bottle and Barlow

Half bar, half barbershop, full style, Bottle and Barlow appears to have it all. Ever wanted to have a drink with your haircut? Well this place offers just that. Regardless of whether you need a shave and trim, the patio offers a nice view to the R Street Corridor. Whether you go for the cocktails, cuts, or events you’re sure to have a good time.
