Lyon’s 9th Annual Coat Drive
As you probably already know, I work with Lyon Real Estate and every year in October we work to donate coats to the community. This year our goal is to donate 12,500 coats. This drive is very dear to my heart as many of these coats go directly to Wellspring Women’s Center, a great charity located in neighboring Oak Park. Wellspring is a wonderful resource that provides a safe and welcoming gathering place for women and children. I am very fortunate to work alongside the wonderful employees and volunteers there weekly. I see firsthand what an impact a coat can make in the lives of these families.
Last year, with the help of our community we were able to give away 13,392 coats. It was an incredible opportunity, and we are so thankful that we had so much support. Please join me in a ‘Closet Clean Up’ this week and find any coats or jackets you are happy to donate. I will personally be bringing these items to Wellspring at the end of the month. Though not part of this drive, I will also drop off any hats, scarves, gloves, and socks you feel you no longer need. Remember, no donation is too small!
