Voting Resources

Voting Resources

I am sorry it has been a few weeks since I posted. I needed to take some time for mental health and to focus on myself. I wanted to just make a quick post with some voting resources because it is super important that everyone who can vote does! We are agents of change and we can only be the change we want if we actively participate.

I know it is super easy to find voting resources just by Googling, but I wanted to make it that much easier to make sure that it is accessible to as many people as possible. With that being said, here are some voting resources linked below 🙂

You can register to vote using the links below:

https://www.usa.gov/voter-registration

https://www.vote.org/register-to-vote/

Another way to register to vote is through Snapchat! I received this message from Team Snapchat and it has a link to register to vote as well as to check the status if you are registered or not. Super quick and easy!

Check Your Registration Status

You can check your registration status using the link listed below:

Commonly Used Voting Terms and Vocabulary

A lot terminology is used surrounding voting such as absentee ballot, caucus and PAC. USA.gov has a great section on commonly used terms and what they mean to help individuals better understand voting and the voting process. Check it out here!

COVID-19 and Voting

Thinking about going to a polling station during COVID makes voting scary, but thankfully in California if you register to vote by October 19, 2020 you will receive a mail-in ballot in the mail!

California State and Local Election Website

Along with the resources on USA.gov, each state has their own election website that allows you to register and see resources that are applicable to your state and local government.

Visit the California State and Local Election website here

Check out the Official Voter Information Guide here

Under the California Voting Resources section there are a ton of resources and you can check them out here

I found the section about Election Cybersecurity and Voter Education and Outreach to be particularly helpful and interesting.

Please remember that October 19th is the official deadline to register to vote!
