Our Favorite Paint Colors

Our Favorite Paint Colors

Ahh, paint colors. Nothing seems more heartbreaking than painting an entire room (or worse, the whole house) only to find you hate the color. All the money, time, and effort wasted. Swearing up and down you’ll never paint again and dammit, it looked different on the swatch!

Well, we’re here to stop that from happening. We’ve rounded up some beautiful paint colors – some classic, some bold – with matching trim so you’ll never have a paint meltdown again.

BENJAMIN MOORE | REVERE PEWTER + SIMPLY WHITE

I love this photo because it really showcases both of these wonderful colors. The millwork here is Simply White by Benjamin Moore. It was actually Benjamin Moore’s color of the year. It’s a soft, slightly creamy white that pairs beautifully with neutrals and warm wood tones. It’s seen here with the Benjamin Moore’s warm gray: Revere Pewter, another chic neutral.

FARROW & BALL | RAILINGS + AMMONITE

Railings, a softer alternative to black, has become the new neutral. For a London-style front door try it with Full Gloss for maximum impact. Used inside, it can transform a room into a modern, yet relaxed space. Paired with the understated Ammonite, a not-too-cool, not-too-warm gray, gives a general calming feel. Excellent for new and old houses alike.
P.S. These look great swapped too! Try Ammonite as the wall color and Railings as a trim for gorgeous detail.

FARROW & BALL | AMMONITE + WEVET

Like I said, Ammonite rocks. It’s a color you just can’t go wrong with. I like to pair it with Wevet, a delicate white with hints of gray, for trim. It really complements the cooler tones picked up in Ammonite.

FARROW & BALL | PINK GROUND + GREAT WHITE

Be brave, be blush.
It’s 2018 and we say: bring on the pink. With just the softest touch of color you can create a warm and calming atmosphere while being perfectly on trend. Though not pictured here, Pink Ground pairs perfectly with a warmer shade of white. Try Farrow and Ball’s Great White for your woodwork.

BENJAMIN MOORE | WHITE DOVE & WHITE DOVE

“Wait, did I read that right?”
Yep! Sometimes a solid color from top to bottom is perfect for the space. An all-white wall can really let the textural elements, like millwork, stand out. It also creates a clean slate for everything else in the room to shine. White Dove has become a favorite among professionals and homeowners alike. It’s particularly neutral with just the slightest touch of gray that complements just about everything.

FARROW & BALL | ELEPHANT’S BREATH + STRONG WHITE

This uniquely named paint seems ever-changing. Elephant’s Breath is technically a warm mid-gray, but under certain light it can appear almost lilac, pink, or tan. It really is a gorgeous paint, though it’s worth buying the trial size to test in every room. Paired with another contemporary neutral like the softer Strong White, it gives a great sense of calm and classic taste.

Benjamin Moore’s Classic Gray is just that, classic. Inherently sophisticated and timeless, this color will last the test of time. Seen here with Simply White for an elegant and serene appeal.
