Some of Our Favorite Holiday Cocktails

With all the fun and chaos of the holiday season nothing goes better with relaxing by the fire than some cocktails! We wanted to branch out from more traditional seasonal beverages and provide some of our favorite holiday themed drinks that put a twist on some traditional cocktails. Mistletoe Mules

Ingredients:

Ice

2 oz. vodka

1 oz. fresh lime juice

1 (12-oz.) can ginger beer

1/4 c. pomegranate seeds

2 crushed candy canes, plus two whole, for garnish

Mint sprigs, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Fill two copper mugs with ice. Pour 1 ounce vodka and 1/2 ounce lime juice over ice in each mug. Pour ginger beer into each cup until mostly full.
  2. Sprinkle with pomegranate seeds, crushed candy cane, and garnish with a whole candy cane and a mint sprig.

Mulled Wine

Ingredients:

1 (750-ml.) bottle red wine

1 orange, sliced into rounds, plus more for garnish

6 whole cloves

3 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish

3 star anise

1/4 cup honey

1/2 cup brandy

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients. Bring to a simmer not a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer gently over low heat for 10 minutes. 
  2. Serve warm and garnish with more citrus slices and cinnamon sticks.

Santa Clausmopolitans

Ingredients:

Lime wedge, for rim

white sanding sugar

1 cup vodka

1 1/2 cup cranberry juice

1/4 cup triple sec

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

1/2 cup fresh cranberries

Directions:

  1. Run a lime wedge around each glass then dip in sanding sugar.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice then add vodka, cranberry juice, triple sec, and lime juice. Shake until the cocktail shaker is cold.
  3. Divide drinks between rimmed glasses and add cranberries for garnish.

White Christmas Margaritas

Ingredients:

1 (14-oz.) can unsweetened coconut milk

12 oz. silver tequila

8 oz. triple sec

1/2 cup lime juice

2 cup ice

1 lime, sliced into rounds for garnish

Lime wedge, for rimming glass

Sanding sugar, for rimming glass

Cranberries, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Combine coconut milk, tequila, triple sec, lime juice and ice in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Rim glasses with lime wedge and dip in sanding sugar. Pour into glass and garnish with lime and cranberries. Serve

Apple Cider Old Fashion

Ingredients:

1/2 cup ice

2/3 cup apple cider

2 oz. whiskey

2 dashes Angostura bitters

Apple slices, for garnish

Cinnamon sticks, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in glass and stir to combine. Serve.
